Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Bioaccumulation of sodium acrylate is unlikely.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
1.051 L/kg ww

Additional information

The BCF was calculated with the reliable QSAR model EPI Suite v4.11 BCFBAF v3.01 and was within the applicabillity domain. Considering biotransformation processes at a mid trophic level the BCF was 1.051 L/Kg. Therefore no accumulation in organisms is expected.

In water sodium acrylate dissociates into sodium- and acrylate-ions. Therefore, QSAR calculations on acrylic acid were used to support the results above. for details see WoE justification in chapter 13.2. With a BCF of 3.162 L/Kg no accumulation in organisms is expected of acrylic acid either.
