Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The submission substance contains many constituents making the analytical monitoring very difficult for the purposes of environment and ecotoxicological testing.

One reliable study is available for the registered substance. The toxicity to aquatic algae was studied by following the OECD TG No. 201 and OECD Guidance document No. 23 on aquatic toxicity testing of difficult substances and mixtures, under GLP. Algae cultures (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) were exposed to Water-accommodated fraction (WAF) of the substance at loading rates of 1.0, 1.6, 2.5, 4.0, 6.3 and 10 mg/L over a test period of 72 hours (static test). The fraction of the multi-constituent substance present in test medium with and without algae were monitored daily; for this purpose, all the chromatographic peaks areas were summed as surrogate of a concentration for the multi-constituent substance. The overall measured concentrations, as total peak area, deviated more than 20% of the initial concentrations. However, test data obtained with WAF Methodology apply for the multi-constituent substance. Such WAF data are proposed for use to assess the aquatic toxicity of multi-component substance in GHS / CLP. The endpoints were based on loading rates. Based on the loading rates and under the experimental conditions, the 72 -hour EC50 for growth rate was determined to 5.4 mg/L and the 72 -hour EC10 to 3.47 mg/L.
