Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- additional ecotoxicological information
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- supporting study
- Study period:
- 18-2-2015 - 11-3-2015
- Reliability:
- 2 (reliable with restrictions)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- other: Non GLP Supporting study. Not valid as a stand alone study. Reliable with restrictions when used in conjunction with existing key studies and T15006 CAS sewage water simulation study. Conducted according to guideline as Effluent Limit study.

Test guideline
- Qualifier:
- equivalent or similar to guideline
- Guideline:
- other: OECD 211
- Deviations:
- yes
- Remarks:
- Conducted as an Effluent Limit test
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Test was conducted as an effluent test. Test organisms were exposed to undiluted control and treated effluent the assessment of effects took place
according to the guideline. - GLP compliance:
- no
- Type of study / information:
- In parallel to sewage treatment simulation testing the investigation of the chronic effects of the collected effluent to Daphnia Magna was conducted in the form of a Non GLP supporting study.
Test material
- Reference substance name:
- Test material was treated effluent from study T15006 CAS
- IUPAC Name:
- Test material was treated effluent from study T15006 CAS
- Test material form:
- other: Treated sewage effluent (reactor treating 6731-36-8)
- Details on test material:
- The test material was effluent collected from an activated sludge reactor treating 10 mg/L of Di-Tert-Butyl 3,3,5 Trimethylcyclohexylidene Diperoxide
(CAS 6731-36-8). See study T15006 CAS. Control effluent was also collected from the control reactor only treating domestic waste water. Effluent
was taken after hydraulic retention time had been reached and daily for 3 weeks thereafter. The effluent was not checked for biodegradation / removalprior to use nor was the reactor considered to be operating optimally at this time. Hence the effluent is considered to be representative to a realistic
worst case effluent from a reactor with an non adapted microbial component. Effluent was stored in the refrigerator prior to use to minimize any
changes in composition.
Unfiltered control and test effluent from study T15006 CAS without modification

Results and discussion
Any other information on results incl. tables
No significant difference on reproduction was detected with both of the statistical tests used (Heteroscedastic t Test & Wilcoxon Two-Sample Test) . Adult survival was slightly better in the treated effluent than in the control.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- In conclusion data demonstrates that treated effluent should not be considered chronically toxic to Daphnia Magna and hence treated effluent forms a relatively low risk to the environment. Toxicity by possible degradation products in the water phase was not detected.
- Executive summary:
Non GLP supporting study (based on relevant guideline) in which the effects of effluent (from a reactor treating 6731 -36 -8) were tested on D magna. Short memo summary style report. Reliable as supporting evidence only.
