Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the test item Sulfosuccinate of Lanolin Alcohol was assessed in a 28-day biodegradation test following the “Manometric Respirometry” at nominal active ingredients concentration of 100 mg/L, corresponding to 333.3 mg/L as test item. The biodegradation was followed by measuring the BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) of the test item under defined conditions by means of a Manometric method.

The test item Sulfosuccinate of lanolin Alcohol was found to be not ready biodegradable under the conditions applied in a Manometric Respirometry test, having not reached the pass level (60% biodegradation) during the 10-day window (range of biodegradation: 11.2% - 31.6%) and having showed a maximum biodegradation of 44.8% during the test period (mean of two replicates). The biodegradability curve can show that, despite the low final value of biodegradability, the test item increase its biodegradability during time.

Even so, the test item did not show any inhibitory effects on the microorganism activity in the toxicity control at the tenth day of test period.
