Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of Glycerin 3EOTA. Algae turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an EC50 (72h) of 7.8 mg/L and an EC10 (72h) of 3,18 mg/L. Thus, Glycerin 3EOTA is considered to be acutely toxic to aquatic organisms. Toxicity testing on fish resulted in a LC50 (96h) value of 20.8 mg/L. Daphnia turned out to be less sensitive on Glycerin 3EOTA. After 48 hours no effect on Daphnia observed up to a concentration of 100 mg/L.

No data on long-term toxicity on fish and Daphnia are available. The results of the risk assessment covering all relevant exposures throughout the life cycle of Glycerin 3EOTA demonstrate the absence of a risk to the environment. Therefore, and for reasons of animal welfare, a long-term toxicity study in fish and Daphnia is not provided.
