Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
3h-EC10 for respiration, activated sludge = 330 mg/L (test material)
3h-EC10 for respiration, activated sludge = 99 mg/L a.i.
3h-EC50 for respiration, activated sludge = 570 mg/L (test material)
3h-EC50 for respiration, activated sludge = 171 mg/L a.i.
The 3h-EC10 value is read-across to cocoiminodipropionate.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- EC50 for microorganisms:
- 171 mg/L
- EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
- 99 mg/L
Additional information
In a 3-h acute toxicity test, activated domestic sewage sludge were exposed to Deriphat 160C at nominal concentrations of 0 - 62.5 - 125 - 250 - 500 and 1000 mg/L. 3, 5-dichlorophenol was used as reference material at 1 - 10 and 100 mg/L (nominal concentration). The study was performed according to the OECD Guideline No 209 (1984). The 3h-EC50 value was determined at 570 mg/L and the 3h-EC10 value at 330 mg/L (based on nominal concentrations of the test material).
It corresponds to 171 and 99 mg/L respectively in active ingredient
This study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirements for toxicity to microorganisms study with Activated Sludge. Results synopsis
Activated sludge
Static conditions
3h-EC50: 171 mg/L (nominal concentration, a.i.)
3h-EC10: 99 mg/L (nominal concentration, a.i.)
Endpoint Effected: respiration
This study was conducted on a similar substance to coco-iminodipropionate (only alkyl chain distribution differs) and then can be used for cocoiminodipropionate.
