Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The lethal concentration (LC50) value of difluoroacetic acid in fish (Pimephales promelas) in a 96 hr study on the basis of mortality effect was estimated to be 165.50 mg/L. Based on this prediction it can be inferred that the target chemical is nontoxic to aquatic environment. The BCF value of dodecan-1-ol, ethoxylated reported was not >= 500 as well as the substance was found to be rapidly degradable

By applying weight of evidence approach to the test substance difluoroacetic acid, the endpoint value was found to vary between LC50 = 121.88 mg/L to 165.50 mg/L in a 96 hrs. also found 52695.99 mg/L & 52695.99 mg/L at 96 hrs. study on the basis of mortality effect. The BCF value of difluoroacetic acid reported was not >= 500 as well as the substance was found to be rapidly degradable. Since the additional criteria mentioned in the CLP regulation related to BCF, biodegradability and Log Kow is not satisfied thus the substance has not been considered for aquatic toxicity classification.
