First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures:

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

In case of inhalation:

If exposed to fumes from overheating, move person into fresh air.

In case of skin contact:

As good industrial hygiene practice, at the end of each work shift, wash skin with plenty of soap and water.

In case of eyes contact:

Do not rub eyes, which may cause particles to scratch the eye. If dust/fumes get in eyes, Wash out with plenty of water. Consult a doctor if necessary.

In case of ingestion:

Not a likely route of exposure. None necessary for small quantities.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:

The product is not classified as harmful to human health effect.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:

If skin irritation or rash occurs, get medical advice/attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:

Suitable extinguishing media:       This product is combustible. Use extinguishing agents appropriate for surrounding fire. Carbon dioxide, water, foam, dry chemical.

Unsuitable extinguishing media:       Not available.

Special hazards arising from the

substance or mixture       No specific fire or explosion hazard. Will burn when exposed to excessive heat or flame. In case of fire, the following can be released: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.

Special fire fighting methods and

special protective actions for

fire-fighters:       Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

For non-emergency personnel:       Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation of vapour or dust. Avoid skin and eye contact. Refer to section 8 of SDS for personal protection details.

For emergency responders:       Wear an appropriate NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator if dust is generated.

Environmental Precautions:       Do not allow material to be released to the environment without proper governmental permits.

Methods for Containment and Cleaning up:       Take up mechanically.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

Protective measures:       Good hygienic practices should be observed. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing dust. If exposed to high dust concentration, leave area immediately. Work clothes should be washed separately at the end of each work day. Keep away from sources of ignition. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Advice on general occupational

hygiene:       Do not eat, drink and smoke in work areas. Wash hands after use. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Conditions for safe storage, including

any incompatibilities:       Material should be stored in a clean, dry environment in original packaging and not exposed to ignition sources. Do not store above the following temperature: 35°C.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters:

Occupational exposure limits:       Not available.

Additional exposure limits under the conditions of use:       Not available.

DNEL/DMEL and PNEC-Values:       Not available.

Exposure controls:

Appropriate engineering controls:       Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits.  If user operations generate dust, fumes or mist, use ventilation to keep exposure to airborne contaminants below the exposure limit.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:

Eye/face protection:       Safety glasses when eye contact is possible.

Hand protection:       Protective gloves of leather, contaminated or damaged gloves should be replaced.

Body protection:       Skin covering working clothes; wear dust-proof overalls if large quantities of dust are generated.

Respiratory protection:       None required under normal conditions of use.

Thermal hazards:       Wear suitable protective clothing to prevent heat.

Environmental exposure controls:       Avoid discharge into the environment.

According to local regulations, Federal and official regulations.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:       The substance is stable under normal storage and handling conditions.

Chemical stability:       Stable at room temperature in closed containers under normal storage and handling conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions:       No dangerous reactions known.

Conditions to avoid:       Incompatible materials. Avoid extreme heat. Avoid direct sunlight.

Incompatible materials:       Strong oxidizing agents.

Hazardous decomposition products:       Caused by incomplete combustion toxic fumes mainly consisting of CO and CO2 may be developed.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods:       The material should be disposed of by incineration in a chemical incinerator in compliance with national and regional requirements.

Product / Packaging disposal:       If empty container retains product residues, all label precautions must be observed. Return for reuse or dispose according to national or local regulations.
