Additional information

The substance (Z)-3-(6-chloro-3-pyridylmethyl)-1,3-thiazolidin-2-ylidenecyanamide was not hydrolytically degraded at 25 °C and pH 5, 7 or 9 (DT50 = > 1 year).

However, sunlight can be considered as the major abiotic degradation pathway in air and in soil. In air the photolytical half-life of the substance was estimated to 1.5 hours, based on modelling. In soil a half-life of 18.8 days in artificial sunlight was recorded for the target substance. The test substance degraded in natural water with an experimental half-life of 42.5 irradiation days. Direct photodegradation in water was assessed to be not relevant for the elimination of the test substance in the environment (DT50 = > 1 year).
