Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Executive summary:
- The inhalation toxicity of methoxyacetic acid was studied in a inhalation risk test (BASF, 1981). This involved passing 200 I air/hour through a 5 cm deep layer of methoxyacetic acid at 20 °C. Twelve rats were exposed to this mixture for 7 hours. Observed symptoms of toxicity included closing of the eyes, snout- wiping and rhinitis. No deaths occurred either during exposure or during the 14 -day observation period. Autopsy revealed no macroscopic findings.
