Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information - workers

The substance is not acutely toxic via the oral or dermal routes, supporting information from exposure of humans reinforces the conclusions drawn from animal studies involving dermal exposure, the inhalation route is not considered to be of significance with respect to human exposure, and long-term studies are contraindicated for a substance that is used exclusively as a cosmetic ingredient in an industrial environment where risk mitigation measures are incorporated into operational procedures as a matter of routine. Furthermore, no evidence of skin irritation/corrosion, serious eye damage/irritation or skin sensitisation was found during performance of appropriate studies. Derivation of DNELs is therefore not possible in the absence of a suitable starting point for calculation.

Additional information - General Population

The substance is not acutely toxic via the oral or dermal routes, supporting information from exposure of humans reinforces the conclusions drawn from animal studies involving dermal exposure, the inhalation route is not considered to be of significance with respect to human exposure, and long-term studies are inappropriate because the neat substance is used only in the industrial environment and exposure of the general population will not take place. Furthermore, no evidence of skin irritation/corrosion, serious eye dame/irritation or skin sensitisation was found during performance of appropriate studies. Derivation of DNELs is therefore not possible in the absence of a suitable starting point for calculation.
