The substance is an inorganic solid, which appears as a white powder at ambient temperature. Its melting point is not measurable since the substance decomposes before melting. The substance has a relative density of 6.936 at 20°C. The substance is highly insoluble in water, its water solubility determined according to the international guidelines OECD 105 and EU Method A.6 is below the limit of quantification (2.5 µl) in water at 20°C. The substance is an inorganic oxide in which the inorganic element is in its highest possible oxidation state hence it does not possess flammability, oxidising or explosive properties.

Based on handling experience it can also be concluded that the substance is not corrosive to metals.
