It is very likely that alkylNitriles will behave like normal narcotic substances. This would mean that they will not like the amines or ammonium salts be protonated under environmental conditions and will not be surface active. The solubility of the nitriles is due to the absence of protonation much lower than for the compareble amines or ammonium salts. The fate can be estimated using the EPIsuite estimation software.

A Koc of 20000 can be estimated from the Log Kow of 5.2 applying the predominantly hydrophobics QSAR as included in EUSES
