Additional information

According to the standard requirements set in Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2, 9.3.2, substances with log Pow values ≤ 3 can be considered to have low bioaccumulation potential. Due to the fact that 2-methyl-N-(4-sulfamoylphenyl) prop-2-enamide (SPM-N) has a log Pow of 0.6 (Brekelmans, 2008), the potential of this substance for bioaccumulation in biota is very low. Furthermore, since no significant toxic effects have been reported in the studies conducted with aquatic organisms and mammals (after oral exposure), secondary poisoning to birds and other predators is unlikely to occur in the environment and further testing is not deemed necessary.
