Additional information

The acute oral as well as the acute inhalation toxicity of methyl 3 -aminocrotonate was studied in male and female rats.

The acute oral LD50 was determined to be 1760 mg/kg.

The acute 4 h-LC50 was determined to be > 23 mg/m3, the maximal technically feasible dust concentration at which no mortality and no symptoms occurred.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the study results methyl 3 -aminocrotonate has to be classified according to Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) as harmfull if swallowed (Xn, R22) or as acute oral toxic, category 4 (H302), respectively.
