First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures:

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

In case of inhalation:

Move subject to fresh air and keep him calm. Seek medical advice in case of troubles.

Methods for Containment and Cleaning up: Bind with contact agent, sand or earth and sweep up immediately or use an approved industrial vacuum cleaner. Keep spilled product in tightly closed containers in a safe place up to the point of disposal. Avoid contamination of the floor and do not wash away with water. Protective measures:

Good hygienic practices should be observed. Avoid inhaling dusts or aerosols; wear respiratory protection with filter for dusts and gases. Avoid skin contact; wear protective clothing, gloves, apron, headgear and eye protection. Work clothes should be washed separately at the end of each work day. Keep away from sources of ignition. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Advice on general occupational hygiene:

Avoid dusts and the formation of aerosols during handling and filling; exhaust ventilation, ventilation, switch on exhaust hood (max. 0.8 m/sec exhaust rate). Protect against wetness. Eye/face protection:

Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists, gases or dusts. Recommended: Tightly fitting safety goggles.

Hand protection:

Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Body protection:

Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product. Recommended: Wear protective clothing.

Respiratory protection:

Use a properly fitted, air-purifying or air-fed respirator complying with an approved standard if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Recommended: Full mask with type ABEK-P3 filter. Wear breathing apparatus with separate air supply (compressed air respirator, tube apparatus) at higher concentrations.

Thermal hazards:

Wear suitable protective clothing to prevent heat.

Environmental exposure controls:

Avoid discharge into the environment. Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. In some cases, fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment will be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.

Waste treatment methods:       

Product residues and uncleaned empty containers should be packaged, sealed, labelled, and disposed of or recycled according to relevant national and local regulations. When uncleaned empty containers are passed on, the recipient must be warned of any possible hazard that may be caused by residues.

Product / Packaging disposal:       

The generation of waste should be avoided or minimized wherever possible. Waste packaging should be recycled. Incineration or landfill should only be considered when recycling is not feasible. If empty container retains product residues, all label precautions must be observed. Return for reuse or dispose according to national or local regulations.
