Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation
- Call a physician if symptoms develop or persist.
Skin contact
- Wash off with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
Eye contact
- Flush eyes with water as a precaution. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
Ingestion
- Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Suitable extinguishing media
- Water fog. Water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide.
Unsuitable extinguishing media
- Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
- Upon decomposition, this product emits carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and/or low molecular weight hydrocarbons.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters
- Wear suitable protective equipment.
Special fire fighting procedures
- Wear suitable protective equipment.
Accidental release measures
For non-emergency personnel
- Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up.
For emergency responders
- Use personal protection recommended:
- Eye/face protection
Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles).
- Skin protection
Hand protection
Use suitable protective gloves if risk of skin contact.
- Other
Personal protection equipment should be chosen according to the CEN standards and in discussion with the supplier of the personal protective equipment.
- Respiratory protection
When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators.
- Thermal hazards
Not available.
- Hygiene measures
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practices. Eye wash fountain and emergency showers are recommended. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
Environmental precautions
- No special environmental precautions required.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
- Large Spills: Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Cover with plastic sheet to prevent spreading. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers. Following product recovery, flush area with water.
- Small Spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Never return spills in original containers for re-use. For waste disposal, see below.
Waste treatment methods
-Residual waste Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues. This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe manner (see: Disposal instructions).
Contaminated packaging
- Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.
EU waste code
- Not available.
Disposal methods/information
- Collect and reclaim or dispose in sealed containers at licensed waste disposal site.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
- Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Follow all MSDS/label precautions even after container is emptied because they may retain product residues. Avoid prolonged exposure. Use care in handling/storage.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
- Keep containers closed when not in use.
