Additional information

No mineral fibre, including this substance, has shown acute toxic effects, even after very large inhalation exposures and instillation studies where physical damage was avoided. No treatment related lethality or acute damage to any organ system has been detected in intratracheal instillation or gavage feeding studies undertaken with this fibre.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No acute effects have been detected with this substance or other fibrous materials, dosing at a sufficient rate to cause acute effects is not possible as the substance will physically interfere with many physiological functions including breathing and ingestion.
