PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance is not considered to be PBT/vPvB based on the information presented below.

Persistence

Biodegradability tests conducted for the read-across substance indicate that the substance will degrade relatively quickly in the environment and can be considered inherently biodegradable, not fulfilling specific criteria. As such, it is considered that the substance will not persist in the environment.

Bioaccumulation

Although the substance has a relatively high log Kow (4.94) a QSAR assessment conducted to determine the bioconcentration factor (BCF) of a representative component indicated that the large molecular size of the constituents will limit uptake by organisms and that the bioaccumulation potential of the substance is low.

Toxicity

The lowest NOEC/EC10 for the substance is >0.01 mg/L. The substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic for reproduction. As the substance does not fulfil any of the other criteria for classification as toxic under REACH Annex XIII, classification as toxic is not necessary.
