Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on the results obtained in the first test set-up of the UN N.4 test (i.e. incubation at 140 °C for 24 h), the test substance is considered not self-ignitable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The temperature of the sample did not exceed the oven temperature (140°C) by 60°C (thus 200°C). Based on this, it was concluded that MMDS is “not a self-heating substance”. According to the guideline, no further testing was required.

After the experiment, the test substance had turned into a black residue and was collected in a container that was placed below the cube. It indicated that the test substance had been molten, decomposed and/or reacted during the experiment.
