The ready biodegradation of the tocopheryl glucoside was determined by the carbon dioxide evolution test method (OCDE guideline 301B). The results indicated that tocopheryl glucoside cannot be considered as readily biodegradable under test conditions because it reached 35,2 % of ThCO2 within a 27 -day-period and 70% of ThCO2 after 43 days of test (criteria to be readily biodegradable : 60 % ThCO2 production reached in a 10 -day window within 28 days).
