Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The growth of Lemna gibba exposed to the test item was investigated in a 7 day semi-static test according to the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals No. 221 (2006). The endpoint values were determined based on the nominal test item concentrations. However, since the determined concentrations of the test item were not stable under the test conditions in a period between daily renewals, the endpoint values were determined also based on the time-weighted mean of the measured concentrations of the test item. The determined endpoint values based on time weighted mean concentrations based on frond number as primary measurement were as following: The ErC50/7 d > 1.02 mg/L, the ErC10/7 d > 1.02 mg/L. The LOEC/7 d = 0.40 mg/L and the NOEC/7 d = 0.17 mg/L.

Additional information

The growth of Lemna gibba exposed to the test item was investigated in a 7 day semi-static test according to the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals No 221 (2006): "Lemna sp,Growth Inhibition Test". The test was performed in glass crystallizers containing 150 mL of each mixture per replicate with daily renewals of the mixtures. The test item was used in six nominal concentrations: 0.025, 0.051, 0.128, 0.32, 0.8 and 2.0 mg/L plus the control. At exposure termination in nominal test item concentrations 0.025, 0.051 and 0.128 mg/L no changes distinctive from the normal development of plants in the control were observed. However, in nominal test item concentrations 0.32, 0.8 and 2.0 mg/L shorter roots and spots of chlorosis on fronds were observed, and in the two highest test item concentrations also fronds were of smaller size.

The ECx values were determined based on the nominal test item concentrations, based on the time-weighted mean concentrations of the test item, and also based on initial test item concentrations. However, since the determined concentrations of the test item were not stable under the test conditions in a period between daily renewals, the endpoint values are therefore based on the time-weighted mean of the measured concentrations of the test item (frond number as primary measurement - in accordance with ECHA's Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7b) and were as following: The ErC50/7 d > 1.02 mg/L, the ErC10/7 d > 1.02 mg/L. The LOEC/7 d = 0.40 mg/L and the NOEC/7 d = 0.17 mg/L.
