Description of key information

According to a model of gas/particle partitioning of semivolatile organic compounds in the atmosphere, formamide, which has a vapor pressure of 0.08 hPa at 25 °C, is expected to exist solely as a vapor in the ambient atmosphere.
Vapor-phase formamide is degraded in the atmosphere by reaction with photochemically-produced hydroxyl radicals; the half-life for this reaction in air is estimated to be 8 days, calculated from its rate constant of 2.0E-12 cm³/molecule*sec at 25 °C determined using a structure estimation method according to Bidleman (1988).
