Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Tefuryltrione is photolytically degraded in soil with a half-life of 3.9 days.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in soil:
3.9 d

Additional information

The endpoint “phototransformation in soil” is not a data requirement for the registered substance. However, for the sake of completeness this endpoint is covered by a short summary of the available data.

In the available GLP study, the photolytic route and rate of degradation of tefuryltrione was studied on one soil under exposure to simulated sunlight and aerobic conditions in the laboratory for 9 days at 20 °C and 55 ± 5% of the maximum water holding capacity in comparison to samples incubated in the dark. The study was performed according to OECD Draft Guideline for Testing of Chemicals: Phototransformation of Chemicals on Soil Surfaces and US EPA OCSPP Guideline No. 835.2410. The degradation half-live (DT50) for tefuryltrione in soil was 3.9 days.
