Conclusion on classification

Short term toxicity values for daphnia and algae were derived using QSAR prediction. The EL50 and ErL50 are 7.8 and 8.8 mg/L, respectively. Based on the lowest EL50 for daphnia, the substance does not need to be classified for acute aquatic toxicity according to Table 4.1.0 (a) of CLP.

No chronic value is available and thus the aquatic chronic classification needs to be derived according to the criteria given in Table 4.1.0(b)(iii) of CLP. The substance is concluded to be readily biodegradable, but a log Kow range of 5.4-5.6 and an acute toxicity value (based on daphnia) of 7.8 mg/L. The substance therefore needs to be classified for long term aquatic toxicity according to Figure 4.1.1 and Table 4.1.0, (b) iii of CLP, resulting in Aquatic Chronic Category 2 (H411) classification.

Based on the available aquatic toxicity studies, the substance needs to be classified for the environment as Aquatic Chronic 2 (H411) according to EU CLP (EC 1272/2008) and its amendments.
