First-aid measures

4.1       Description of first aid measures

General advice

Remove contaminated clothing, Consult a physician.

Following inhalation

If breathed in, move person into fresh air, if not breathing, give artificial respiration, consult a physician.

Following skin contact

Wash off with soap and plenty of water, Consult a physician.

Following eye contact

Flush eyes with clean water, Seek medical attention immediately.

After ingestion

Rinse mouth with water. Avoid giving anything by mouth to an unconscious person, consult a physician.

Note to physician: Treat according to symptoms, (decontamination, and vital functions),

no known specific antidote.

4.2       Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Harmful if swallowed. Suspected of causing genetic defects. Suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child. Very toxic to aquatic life.

4.3       Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Follow advice provided in section 4.1.

Fire-fighting measures

 Suitable extinguishing media : Dry extinguishing media, Foam.

 Unsuitable extinguishing media : Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

 Special hazards : Avoid whirling up the material / product because of the

danger of dust explosion. Harmful vapors, evolution of fog /

may be released in case of fire.

 Precautions for fire fighters : Wear self contained breathing apparatus like tight protective

clothing, rubber boots and thick rubber gloves for fire fighting.

 Additional information : Dusty conditions may ignite explosively in the presence of an

ignition source causing flash fire.

Accidental release measures

6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Wear respiratory protection. Avoid dust formation. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to

safe areas. Avoid breathing dust.

6.2 Method for containment and cleaning up

Spillage should be handled by trained cleaning personnel properly equipped with respiratory and eye

protection with an eclectically protected vacuum cleaner or by wet – brushing. Do not flush with water.

Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

6.3 Environmental precautions

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the

environment must be avoided.

Handling and storage

7.1 Precautions for safe handling

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Closed containers should only be opened in well ventilated area.

7.2 Precautions for safe storage

Store in cool place. Keep container tightly in a dry and well ventilated place.

7.3 Specific end uses – Redox catalyst, discharge printing

Exposure controls / personal protection

8.1 Control parameters: Components with workplace control parameters

8.1.2 - see SDS

8.2 Exposure controls

Appropriate engineering controls

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks

and at the end of workday.

Eye/Face Protection

Face shield and safety glasses. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under

appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166 (EU)

Skin protection

Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal material

technique (without touching glove’s outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of

contaminated gloved after use in accordance with applicable laws and laboratory practices. Wash and

dry hands.

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the

standard EN 374 derived from it.

Body Protection

Complete suit protecting against chemicals. The type of protective equipment must be selected

according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.

Respiratory Protection

Where risk assessment shows air – purifying respiratoes are appropriate use a full- face particle

respirator type N100 (US) or type P3 (EN 143) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering

controls. If the respirator is the sole means of protection, use a full – face supplied air respirator. Use

respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as

NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

Stability and reactivity

10.1 Reactivity

Under normal conditions of use and storage, the product is stable.

10.2 Chemical stability

Under normal conditions of use and storage, the product is stable.

10.3 Possibility of hazardous reactions

Under normal conditions of use and storage, the product is stable.

10.4

Conditions to avoid: Avoid humidity, temperature Above 500 C

10.5

Incompatible materials: Acids, oxidizing agents, low flash point material.

10.6 Hazardous decomposition products

No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.

Disposal considerations

Contact manufacturer for recycling information. Disposal only according to official regulations.

13.1. Waste treatment methods

Waste disposal according to national/local legislation is sufficient

13.1.1. Non-hazardous wastes

Waste disposal according to national/local legislation is sufficient

13.1.2. Hazardous wastes

Waste disposal according to national/local legislation is sufficient

Suitable disposal: Keep separate and dispose of to Hazardous waste incineration plants operated according to Council Directive 2008/98/EC on waste, Directive 2000/76/EC on the incineration of waste and the Reference Document on the Best Available Techniques for Waste Incineration of August 2006 or Hazardous landfills operated under Directive 1999/31/EC.

13.1.3. Consumer, service-life, and end-of-life waste can be disposed at municipal waste incineration plants or landfills as non-hazardous consumer waste unless if regulated separately.
