Conclusion on classification

Short-term fish and Daphnia toxicity studies are available on the read across substance, C8-18 and C18 -unsatd. DEA and an algae toxicity study is available with the test substance, C10 -12 and C18-unsatd. DEA. Based on the results from the available studies, fish has been identified to be the most sensitive species. The lowest short-term 96 h LC50 value for the test substance in fish (based on the read across study) was considered at 2.4 mg/L (nominal) and the long-term equivalent ErC10 value from the algae study with the test substance was determined at 1.4 mg/L (measured). Overall, based on the available results and considering that the substance is readily biodegradable with low bioaccumulation potential (based on weighted average BCF= 28.90 L/kg), C10-12 and C18-unsatd. DEA, does not warrant aquatic classification according to EU CLP criteria (Regulation 1272/2008/EC).
