Administrative data

First-aid measures

Immediate medical assistance required: NO- Skin contact: after contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water.- Eye contact: in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.- Inhalation: remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth. If breathing is difficult give oxygen. Seek medical advice. - Ingestion: give 500 ml water to drink. Do not induce vomitting.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media- Suitable: non flammable- Unsuitable: -- Exposure hazards: in case of fire and/or explosion, do not breathe fumes.- Protective equipment for fire fighters: self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear suitable protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: do not breathe fumes/vapour.- Environmental precautions: contain any spill with dikes or absorbents to prevent migration and entry into sewers or streams. - Methods for cleaning up: take up small spills with dry chemical absorbent. Large spills may be taken up with vacuum or pump and finished off with dry chemical absorbent. May require excavation of contaminated soil.

Handling and storage

Handling: keep away from sources of ignition - no smoking. Storage: mechanical ventilation is recommended. Local exhaust is needed at source of vapours.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment-Skin protection: if skin contact or contamination of clothing is likely, protective clothing should be worn.- Eye protection: chemical goggles.- Hands protection: wear suitable gloves resistant to chemical penetration.- Respiratory protection: approved supplied-air respirator.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: stable under normal conditions of use.- Conditions to avoid: keep away from heat. Keep away from sources of ignition. - Materials to avoid: keep away from aluminium and magnesium.- Hazardous (thermal) decomposition products: hydrogen bromide. Bromine.

Disposal considerations

Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations.- Absorb and incinerate.
