Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Justification for type of information:
Guideline method conducted in a reliable laboratory within the spirit of GLP, but without GLP certification.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ASTM E659 (Standard test method for autoignition temperature of liquid chemicals)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
300 °C
Remarks on result:
other: at 100 kPa
Remarks:
reported as 1000 mbar
Conclusions:
The auto-ignition temperature of the test material was found to be 300°C at 100 kPa.

Description of key information

300 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
300 °C

Additional information

In a guideline autoignition test protocol, the substance was found to ignite at temperatures over 300 °C. In a different study, dust explosivity risk was evaluated as strong, with a high sensitivity to ignition.
