Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
July 18, 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Justification for type of information:
Data come from the description of the test substance in the certificate of analysis provided to the laboratory in charge of the determination of physico-chemical properties of the substance. No guideline is required according to REACh TGD. The substance is considered to be adequately characterised. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Visual observation
GLP compliance:
no
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Remarks:
paste
Key result
Form:
liquid: viscous
Remarks:
paste
Colour:
brown to brown red
Odour:
other: no data
Substance type:
organic
Conclusions:
The test substance is a brown to brown red paste at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.
Executive summary:

The data come from the description of the test substance reported in the certificate of analysis provided by the supplier of the substance to be tested for physico-chemical properties.

Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
07 - 14 December 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Justification for type of information:
Data come from the observations and melting point value obtained in the GLP Melting point study (see endpont 4.2) conducted on the registered substance. No guideline is required according to REACh TGD. The substance is considered to be adequately characterised. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Visual observation and melting point determination (see endpoint 4.2)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. certificate)
Remarks:
inspected on 15 and 16 November 2017 / signed on 15 May 2018
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Remarks:
very viscous and sticky, almost not flowable liquid
Key result
Form:
liquid: viscous
Remarks:
very viscous and sticky, almost not flowable liquid
Colour:
brown
Substance type:
organic

At room temperature, the test item was a brown very viscous and sticky, almost not flowable liquid (it flowed very slowly). At 5.1°, the test item was harder than at room temperature no more flowable but was still pierceable. At -22.9°C and -80°C, the test item was solid like ice.

Results obtained by DSC do not allow to determine the melting point of the substance without ambiguity. Finally, the melting point of the substance was considered as < 5.1°C based on pre-test results.

Conclusions:
The test substance is a very viscous and sticky, almost not flowable liquid at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.
Executive summary:

The data come from the observations and melting point value obtained in the GLP Melting point study (see endpont 4.2) conducted on the registered substance.

Description of key information

The test substance is a brown to brown red paste, also described as a very viscous and sticky, almost not flowable liquid at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid

Additional information

The data come from the description of the test substance in the certificate of analysis of the supplier of the substance to be tested for physico-chemical properties and on the observations and melting point value obtained in the GLP Melting point study.
