Pre-test

At 50°C, the test item was slowly flowable. Then it was tested if 40°C were also sufficient. As the test item was also slowly flowable 40°C were considered as the lowest possible temperature at which it was flowable. After cooling down deionised water was added. The test item was not dissolved and the solution stayed clear. Therefore deionised water was considered as applicable for replacement liquid.

The density of the test item was calculated as 1.0447 ± 0.0002 g/cm3 at 20.0 ± 0.2 °C, which is the mean of two independent determinations ± the standard deviation. Standard deviation shows good correlation of the two determinations. Therefore, the study is considered valid.

Conclusions:
The density of the test substance was measured as 1.0447 ± 0.0002 g/cm3 at 20.0 ± 0.2 °C and the relative density is determined as D20/4 = 1.0447
Denser than water
Executive summary:

The density of the test substance was measured under GLP according OECD 109 / EU A3 guideline, using the pycnometer method.

Two determinations were performed and the mean value was retained.

This result was then converted to relative density.

Mean density: 1.0447 g/cm3at 20.0 ± 0.2 °C

Mean relative density (D20/4) : 1.0447

Description of key information

The density of the test item was measured as 1.0447 ± 0.0002 g/cm3 at 20.0 ± 0.2 °C and the relative density is determined as D20/4 = 1.0447

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.045

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted under GLP according to OECD 109 /EU A3 guideline, using pycnometer method with a replacement liquid, is available. It is considered as a key study, and the result is retained as key data.
