First-aid measures

General advice:

Take hazard and precautionary statements into account.

Inhalation:

Remove from exposure site and keep at rest. Obtain medical advice.

Contact with skin:

Remove contaminated clothes. Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Obtain medical advice if symptoms persist.

Contact with eyes:

Flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical advice if symptoms persist.

Ingestion:

Rinse mouth with water and obtain medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:

Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foaam

UNSUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:

Do not use a water jet on burning material.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:

Avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes. A self-contained breathing apparatus is recommended in case of a major spill.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:

Keep away from drains, surface- and groundwater and soil.

METHODS FOR CLEANING UP:

Clean up spillage promptly. Remove ignition sources. Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid exessive inhalation of vapours. Gross spillages should be contained by use of sand or inert powder and disposed of according to the local regulations.

Handling and storage

ADVICE ON SAFE HANDLING:

Avoid excessive inhalation of concentrated vapors, contact with skin and eyes.

Follow good manufacturing practices for housekeeping and personal hygiene.

Wash any exposed skin immediately after any chemical contact, before breaks and meals, and at the end of each work period.

Contaminated clothing and shoes should be thoroughly cleaned before reuse.

Keep away from ignition sources and naked flame.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Occupational and environmental exposure limits have not been established for this substance.

ENGINEERING MEASURES:

If appropriate, isolate mixing rooms and other areas where this material is used or openly handled. Apply local exhaust system or maintain these areas under negative air pressure relative to the rest of the operation.

General advice: Keep away from drains, surface- and groundwater and soil.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Respiratory protection:

Use local exhaust ventilation around open containers and other sources of potential exposures in order to avoid excessive inhalation. Respiratory protection is not required during normal operations in a workplace where engineering controls such as adequate ventilation, etc. are applied and properly functioning.

Skin protection:

Avoid skin contact. Use chemically resistant gloves.

Eye protection:

Use tight-fitting goggles, face shield or safety glasses, if eye contact might occur.

Hygiene measures:

Verify as deemed necessary if control and operational measures are applied and properly functioning.

Stability and reactivity

REACTIVITY: No hazards to be specifically mentioned.

CHEMICAL STABILITY: Stable under normal conditions and recommended storage at ambient conditions.

POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS: Present no significant reactivity hazard, by itself or in conact with water. Avoid contact with strong acids, alkali or oxiizing agents.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Carbon monoxide and unidentified organic compounds may be formed during combustion.

Disposal considerations

WASTE TREATMENT METHODS:

Product:

Dispose of according to local regulations. Avoid disposing into drainage systems and into the environment.

Contaminated Packaging:

Empty containers should be cleaned and preferably be recycled or disposed of according to regulations.
