PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Based on both main compounds, D-Limonene and L-Carvone, which typical concentration are 14 and 68%, the Natural Complex Substance Spearmint Oil is concluded as not PBT/vPvB.

Spearmint Oil is a Natural Complex Substance (NCS), consisting of more than 15 constituents. The sum of the known constituents represents 92.8% of the NCS. Biodegradation studies for the constituents indicate that 91% of the composition of this NCS can be considered as readily biodegradable and the remaining 2 constituents (1.81% of the typical composition) still biodegradable, one undergoing complete primary biodegradation, and the other one expected to be inherently biodegradable. Therefore Spearmint oil as a substance is considered to be readily biodegradable. None of the known constituents of Spearmint oil are Persistent or Very Persistent. Further assessment of the B- or T-properties is not needed to conclude that Spearmint Oil is not PBT or vPvB.

Likely routes of exposure:

Investigation of the likely routes of exposure is not needed as the substance is not PBT or vP/vB.
