PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT Assessment for Hexanedioic acid, di-C16-18 (even numbered)-alkyl esters (CAS 92969-90-9) is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment” (ECHA, 2017).

Persistence

Hexanedioic acid, di-C16-18 (even numbered)-alkyl esters (CAS 92969-90-9) is considered to be readily biodegradable. This assumption is based on a study conducted according to OECD 301B (89% (CO2 evolution) after 29 d). Thus, the test substance does not meet the screening criterion for persistence and it is not considered to be P or vP.

Bioaccumulation

The potential for bioaccumulation of Hexanedioic acid, di-C16-18 (even numbered)-alkyl esters (CAS 92969-90-9) was not assessed since the substance is not considered to be P/vP.

Toxicity

Hexanedioic acid, di-C16-18 (even numbered)-alkyl esters (CAS 92969-90-9) is considered to be not toxic. Studies on the acute and chronic toxicity of the substance determined no effects in the range of water solubility. Furthermore the substance is not classified for specific target organ toxicity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity or reproductive and developmental toxicity in mammals according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and all further amendements (ATPs). Thus, the criteria set out in Annex XIII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 are not met and the substance is not considered to meet the T-criterion.

In conclusion the substance is not PBT/vPvB.
