Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One non-reliable experimental study is available investigating the toxicity of the substance Decyl 2-ethylhexanoate (CAS 93777-46-9) to Daphnia magna. The study was conducted according to OECD 202 under static conditions. The test organism was exposed over a period of 48 h to nominal concentrations of 0, 1, 10, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mg/L. The EC50 (48 h) was determined to be at 17.5 mg/L (nominal). But this study has to be treated with caution as only limited information are available and the calculation of the effect value is not conclusive. In addition, no analytical measurements were done. Since the target substance has a low water solubility (1.82 - 2.40 µg/L), evaluation of the test results without analytical measurements is not possible and physical effects rather than intrinsic effects of the soluble part of the substance cannot be excluded.

Since a long-term aquatic toxicity study with aquatic invertebrates is available for the target substance Decyl 2-ethylhexanoate (CAS 93777-46-9) this study does not need to be conducted according to Annex VII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
