Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
experimental dates: July 02-03, 2008
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
The study was conducted according to an internationally recognized method, and under GLP. No deviation was reported. Test substance is adequately specified. Therefore full validation applies.

Preliminary test (25-400°C, 20°C/min; 99.1 kPa)

A small not well defined endothermic heat effect was observed at about 150°C. However, this reaction was not due to boiling as it was not reproducible in the main test runs. After the experiment, the sample had lost 95% of its mass and a brownish black residue remained.

Main test 1 (100-280°C, 10°C/min; 99.2 kPa)

No heat effect was observed. The sample lost about 81% of its mass and a brownish to red residue remained.

Main test 2 (25-400°C, 10°C/min; 99.2 kPa)

No clear heat effects were observed. The sample lost about 90% of its mass and a black residue remained.

A clear decomposition temperature cannot be given.

Executive summary:

The boiling point of the test substance was measured under GLP according to OECD 103 / EU A2 guideline, DSC method. One preliminary run and two main runs were performed, with different temperature range and heating rate.

No clear thermal effect was observed, that could be assigned to transition. At the end of the experiments, a brownish residue was observed.

Therefore the substance is supposed to undergo decomposition, starting from ca 150°C.

Description of key information

Decomposition starting from approximately 150°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EC method and under GLP, is available. It is considered as a key study. As no clear transition was observed, the result cannot be retained as key data.
