First-aid measures

If inhaled:
Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air. Immediately administer a corticosteroid from a controlled/metered dose inhaler.

On skin contact:
Immediately wash thoroughly with plenty of water, apply sterile dressings, consult a skin specialist.

On contact with eyes:
Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

On ingestion:
Immediately rinse mouth and then drink 200-300 ml of water, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media:
water spray, carbon dioxide, dry powder, foam.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
metal oxides, carbon oxides
The substances/groups of substances mentioned can be released in case of fire.

Advice for fire-fighters
Special protective equipment:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective clothing. Information regarding personal protective measures see, section 8.

Environmental precautions
Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Avoid raising dust. Dampen, pick up mechanically and dispose of. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Avoid dust formation. Avoid inhalation of dusts. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Processing machines must be fitted with local exhaust ventilation.

Protection against fire and explosion:
The product does not contribute to the spreading of flames, nor is it self combustible, not explosive.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Components with workplace control parameters
1370461-06-5: Aluminum, [(2E)-2-butenedioato(2-)-?O1]hydroxy
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection:
Suitable respiratory protection for higher concentrations or long-term effect: Particle filter with low
efficiency for solid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P1or FFP1)
Hand protection:
Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)
Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6,
corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374):
e.g. nitrile rubber (0.4 mm), chloroprene rubber (0.5 mm), polyvinylchloride (0.7 mm) and other
Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature data and information of glove
manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g.
temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice
may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.
Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.
Eye protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)
General safety and hygiene measures:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Due to the colouring properties
of the product closed work clothes should be used, to avoid stains during manipulation. Hands and/or
face should be washed before breaks and at the end of the shift.

Stability and reactivity

Hazardous reactions:
No hazardous reactions when stored and handled according to instructions.
Hazardous decomposition products:
No hazardous decomposition products if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.

Disposal considerations

May be disposed of or combusted with domestic refuse according to local regulations.
Check for possible recycling.
Contaminated packaging:
Uncontaminated packaging can be re-used.
Packs that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of in the same manner as the contents.
