Results in detail

Melting temperature

No melting temperature was found between 0 °C and decomposition of the test item, starting at about 300 °C (Test 2, 1st

heating).

The estimated accuracy is ± 1 °C.

Observed thermic processes

After Test 1 and Test 2 the test item was not molten up and did not show any visual change. This was a clear indication that the

observed exothermic peak starting at about 300 °C and the registered weight loss of 45.6 % showed the decomposition of the

test item (Test 2).

These observations are confirmed by the preliminary TG/DTA-Test (non-GLP). An exothermic peak at about 360 °C peak temperature with a weight loss of 45.9 % at 400 °C showed the decomposition of the test item.

The stepwise weight loss up to about 17 % at 250 °C was interpreted as the loss of humidity and volatile components. This

may be caused by an open handling during the preparation of the crucible before the TG/DTA measurement.
