Description of key information

The boiling point of the substance is determined to be between 292 °C and 305 °C at 1009 hPa

Three GLP studies were conducted.

A BASF GLP study determined the boiling point in accordance with the EU Method A.4 (Vapour pressure) using the effusion method: by loss of weight to be greater than 400 °C. The vapour pressure at 55°C is only 2 Pa, so the calculated boiling point is > 400°C. Cause of the stability of the test item the substance couldn't determinate experimental.  In a correction of this test report, a boiling point was determined using the dynamic method.In this case, a boiling point of 306.6 ° C at 1013.25 hPa was determined.

International Specialty Products Inc. study determined the boiling point in accordance with the EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature) using the distillation method to be 292-305 °C at 1009 mbar. The sample was difficult to distil, bumping violently throughout the distillation. Such behaviour caused inconsistent temperature readings in the early stages of distillation and the test was therefore performed three times (normally only two distillations are necessary). Even so the first three temperature readings differed in all determinations and boiling point could only be accurately quoted for the range 30% (3 ml recovered) - 98% (mean recovery-end point).

The value from the GLP study of International Specialty Products Inc. was chosen as key value for the boiling point. Thos wa supported by the value deermined in a GLP study from BASF which resulted the boiling point of the substance to be 306.6°C At 1013.25 hPa.
