Description of key information

Stability

Study on hydrolysis proposed to get waived, based on knowledge from handling and use of the substance indicating hydrolytical stability in the relevant pH range 3.5 - 9.5.

Biodegradation

The substance showed neither ready nor inherent biodegradability. Biodegradation simulation studies in water and sediment as well as biodegradability in soil can get waived. Based on the available data the substance shall be considered as not biodegradable.

Bioaccumulation

Study on bioaccumulation proposed to get waived based on log Kow < 0. The substance therefore shall be considered as not bioaccumulative.

Transport and distribution

Study on transport and distribution proposed to get waived based on log Kow < 0. The substance is expected to have very low potential for adsorbance to particulate matter and therefore shall be considered as highly mobile in the different environmental compartments.

Additional information

Test substance is considered as chemically stable. As the the substance also was not readily or inherently biodegradable, according to ECHA guidance documents the substance shall be assessed as persistent for the time being, unless further data would indicate differently.

The studies on bioaccumulation and adsorption/desorption both are proposed to get waived based on the low log Kow < 0 and high solubility in water. The substance thus shall be considered as not being bioaccumulative, and as being highly mobile in soil and sediments.

Based on these grounds the PBT and vPvB discussion stops at this point.
