Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
The following measured data are available that describe the short-term toxicity of the registered substance to aquatic organisms:
Fish: A 96 hour LC50 value of 23 mg/l (nominal concentrations of tri(isopropyl)silyl acrylate) has been determined for the effects of the registered substance on mortality of Brachydanio rerio (new name: Danio rerio). When expressed in terms of mean measured concentrations of tris(1-methylethyl)silanol the corresponding value is 13 mg/l.
Invertebrates: A 48 hour EC50 value of 3 mg/l (nominal concentrations of tri(isopropyl)silyl acrylate) has been determined for the effects of the registered substance on mobility of Daphnia magna. When expressed in terms of mean measured concentrations of tris(1-methylethyl)silanol the corresponding value is 1.4 mg/l.
Algae: The key study shows a 72 hour ErC50 value of 0.32 -1.0 mg/l and a NOEC of 0.032 mg/l have been determined for the effects of the registered substance on the growth rate of Desmodesmus subspicatus). The results are expressed relative to nominal concentrations of tri(isopropyl)silyl acrylate. When expressed relative to the initial measured concentrations of the hydrolysis product, tris(1-methylethyl)silanol, the corresponding values are an ErC50 of 0.166 -0.548 mg/l and a NOEC of 0.00191 mg/l.
Long-term toxicity:
Invertebrates:
A 21 day NOEC value of ≥0.127 mg/l (highest concentration tested) has been determined for the effects of the silanol hydrolysis product tris(1-methylethyl)silanol on reproduction of Daphnia magna, based on geometric mean concentrations.
A 21 day NOEC value of ≥0.119 mg/l (highest concentration tested) has been determined for the effects of the non-silanol hydrolysis product acrylic acid on reproduction of Daphnia magna, based on geometric mean concentrations.
There are no long-term toxicity data for fish and a data waiver is applicable.
A 3 hour ASRI NOEC value of ≥760 mg/l (expressed in terms of concentration of the hydrolysis product, tris(1-methylethyl)silanol) was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP.
