Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Endpoint:
- solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- 2010-05-10
- Reliability:
- 2 (reliable with restrictions)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study with acceptable restrictions
- Qualifier:
- equivalent or similar to guideline
- Guideline:
- other: L383 A/54-62 (EEC A.6.) (water solubility)
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- N-Octanol solubility of the test item was determined. For that purpose similar experimental conditions were applied as decsribed for determination of water solubility according to test procedure VTA34N00003.01, which complies with EU test method L383 A/54-62 (EEC A.6.).
- GLP compliance:
- no
- Medium:
- n-octanol
- Solubility:
- ca. 1 000 g/kg solvent

Study Results
Generally a preliminary test shall be performed to estimate the n-octanol solubility. For that purpose, 0.1 g or the test item were weighed in and 0.1 g, 0.5 g, 1.0g, 2.0 g and 10.0 g of n-octanol were added to each weighted sample. The test item was completely solved giving clear solutions.
Thus, determination of n-octanol solubility according performed by applying similar conditions ot test procedure VTA34N00003.01, which complies with EU test method L383 A/54 -62 (EEC A.6.) had to be aborted.
The test item is mixable with n-octanol in all proportions.
No data given for temperature.
Description of key information
ca. 1000 g/kg in n-octanol (adopted EU A.6, flask method)
Key value for chemical safety assessment
