Description of key information

According to the results the test item is considered to be hydrolytically not stable in the presence of an intestinal-fluid simulant. In presence of saliva simulant or gastric-juice simulant it could be shown that the test item hydrolyses slightly.

The hydrolysis of the test item in the presence of several fluids (saliva simulant, gastric-juice simulant and intestinal-fluid simulant) was investigated using gas chromatography. After termination of the hydrolysis test at 37 °C the hydrolysis product (octanol) was determined in the hydrolysate.

The recovery of octanol in saliva simulant, in gastric juice and in intestinal-fluid simulant were 2 %, 7 % and 60 %, respectively. Thus according to the results the test item is considered to be hydrolytically not stable in the presence of an intestinal-fluid simulant. In presence of saliva simulant or gastric-juice simulant the test item is considered to hydrolyses slightly.
