Justification for classification or non-classification

Acute toxicity studies were conducted with ‘glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. (SDA Reporting Number: 01-001-00)’ and other substances of the same read-across category. Toxicity via the oral and dermal routes is low, as expected based on the very long history of safe use of this type of substances in a wide range of nutritional (food and feed), cosmetic and industrial applications.

Exposure via the inhalation route is not expected given the physical state and low vapour pressure of ‘glycerides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd. (SDA Reporting Number: 01-001-00)’.

Based on the above information, the substance does not require classification for acute oral, dermal or inhalatory toxicity according to Directive 67/548/EC or Regulation 1272/2008/EC.
