Description of key information

Key study:- Givaudan (2011(b)) Melting point/freezing point (OECD 102, EU Method A.1 and EPA OPPTS 830.7200): < -50°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-50 °C

Additional information

The freezing point of the test substance was determined in the key study, (Givaudan, 2011(b)), a GLP compliant study in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 102, EU Method A.1 and EPA OPPTS 830.7200 with a sufficient level of detail to assess the quality of the presented data. The study was performed to a good standard and was assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with Klimisch (1997) and considered suitable to fulfil the data requirement. As no congealing of the test substance was observed down to -50°C in the preliminary test, the main test was not performed and the melting point/freezing point of the test substance was reported to be < -50°C.
