Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information
For this endpoint, two studies are available: one Klimisch 1 study and one Klimisch 4 information.
In the Klimisch 1 GLP study from Aniol (2015) the toxicity 3-chloropropionic acid (purity 99.1%) to Desmodesmus subspicatus was determined in a static 72 -Hour Algal Growth Inhibition Test according to OECD 201. All validity critera were fulfilled. The nominal concentrations of the test item of Control, 3.07, 7.68, 19.2, 48.0 and 120 mg/L were tested in parallel with a control. Dose verification analysis was performed. The biological data were based on nominal concentrations. The growth of the control cultures fulfilled the validity criteria from OECD 201 (2006). The 72 -hour ErC10 and ErC50 are 10.1 and 45.3 mg 3-chloropropionic acid /L based on nominal concentrations. This information is considered to be relevant and reliable for the further risk assessment.
Supporting study:
A 7-day non-standard test with Scenedesmus subspicatus resulted in a EC3 (equivalent to NOEC) of 689 mg/L.
The test period was unusual and insufficient details are available to enable the test results to be fully evaluated. This study is not considered for the risk assessment.
