Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Especially under acidic conditions the substance hydroylses rapidly.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Hydrolysis was investigated in a GLP test according to OECD guideline 111 (BASF 2012). While at an acidic pH value of 4 and 20°C very short half-lifes of 0.1h was estimated, half-lifes increase with increasing pH (10.9h at pH7 and at 20°C). These results indicate that the reaction is mainly acid driven. Due to the structure, acetaldehyde and Cyclohexanol are supposed to be the products of hydrolysis.

As all tests on aqautic organims were performed in slightly basic aqueous medium and/or because semi-static conditions were used hydrolysis is not expected to have influenced the results of these studies.
