Additional information

A valid study according to OECD guideline 202 did not reveal any toxic effects within the range of water solubility of the test substance (RCC 2000). The EC50 was determined to be > 100 mg/L (nominal) / 0.045 mg/L (measured).

Two further studies are considered invalid. One study reports of undissolved material and trapped animals in the undissolved parts (RCC 1994). This study reported an EC50 of 0.12 mg/L. The second invalid study (Ciba Geigy 1992) was conducted with DMSO as vehicle, which is known to increase the toxicity of substances by enhancing the permeability of cell membranes. Furthermore, this study also revealed undissolved parts of test material. The EC50 was determined to be 0.044 mg/L (measured).
