other: A saturated aqueous solution of the poorly soluble substance was produced by stirring the substance for 17 hours. After removing excess substance, 90 ml of the aqueous phase was mixed with 10 ml water to obtain a 90 % solution.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The OECD harmonized ring method was used for the determination of the surface tension. The surface tension of a test solution at 90 % of the test substance saturation solubility in water 20.0 °C was 48.8 mN/m. Since this value is below the value as stated in the guideline, i.e. < 60 mN/m, the test substance is considered to be surface active.
