Additional information

There were no information concerning biodegradation of n-Decyl methacrylate in water, sediment or soil available.

The results of the biodegradation studies on the structurally closely related Isodecyl methacrylate (i-C10-Ester) are considered as representative for the biodegradation of n-Decyl methacrylate (C10 -Ester).

Isodecyl methacrylate was demonstrated to be readily biodegradable (failing 10-day window) in an OECD 310 GLP study (Noack, 2011). There is no evidence for bioaccumulation (cf. chapter 'Bioaccumulation').

After termination of the study on day 28 the mean biodegradation was 62 %, the 95 % confidence interval was 50 - 74 %. Isodecyl methacrylate was classified as readily biodegradable after 28 days but without complying the 10 day window.
